In April 2007, David S. Coats won a pro bono case referred to him by the Volunteer Lawyers Program. The client was an older woman who had been denied long term disability benefits by her employer's long term disability insurer. Bailey & Dixon convinced the insurer to reverse their previous denial and the client was awarded a large lump sum award for past due benefits and was also to receive future disability benefits on a monthly basis.
